Swim and Survival Lessons

Swim lessons:

Laura Castle teaches ISR but you have to go everyday for 15 mins to get the maximum benefits. She is amazing and taught my kids to self rescue, even fully clothed in the winter! I can’t highly recommend her enough as swim instructors. You see progress quickly if you come consistently. She’s committed to saving LIVES.

I’ve taken the kids to swimming lessons from community centers to Goldfish to Aquatots to Bluefins to Australian Swim to all the different programs out there. 🏊‍♂️

I was worried about the length of time which was 10 minutes of instruction but it turns out to be perfect because that’s basically as long as they are enthusiastic and their attention span. She’s very clear in her instructions to both myself and the kids and very enthusiastic and I can tell she loves kids because who wants to be swimming with crying kids?

It’s $100 to register a child, then $90/weekly for 10 minute sessions every weekday. It’s actually worth it for me for peace of mind as well as confidence for my kiddos. Drowning prevention is her drive so she’s taking as many students as she can safely.

2 months. That’s all it took for my kids to go from completely non-swimmers and dependant on floaties to now DIVING for toys, coming up, floating and breathing, then swimming back to safety! 🧜🧜‍♀️

I can’t thank Isr Gina Mancilla (www.coloradoisr.com) and Laura Castle enough for teaching my kids to self rescue and giving us all confidence to enjoy our pool with our toddlers. 🏊‍♀️🏊

This is them passing their tests with FULL WINTER GEAR ON. 🧥🧤🧣🤗

Oh and we got rid of our floaties! Like my son says, “Our FLOAT can save us, not FLOATIES”. 👐

We’re continuing to learn swim lessons at our home with private lessons with Coach Miguel Cardenas. He’s been continuing their skills sets, teaching them to doggy paddle, the correct strokes and become more confident swimmers. He’s so good with kids and affordable! He teaches at UTEP and coaches the kids swim teams. Communicates very well, brings his own equipment and comes on time!

My friend has a very tight schedule and he worked around it for her and I! We had to try a few days and times and he was so accommodating. He makes us more confident as moms and teaches us to interact with them in the pool.

Drowning is the 3rd leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide, accounting for 7% of all injury-related deaths. 1 in 5 overall drowning victims are under the age of 14. Drilling down further, children with autism are at an exponentially increased risk, and a disproportionate number of drowning victims are people of color. While no method is foolproof, swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by a staggering 88%. Give them the gift of a lifetime and get them swim lessons and survival skills. It’s worth it 100% and will last them a lifetime.
