Big news for travelers! Southwest Airlines just announced they will start charging for checked luggage for the first time ever! 
Starting May 28, the beloved “bags fly free” policy will be a thing of the past for new bookings. This change is aimed at boosting revenue and rewarding loyal customers. While A-List Preferred members and those on business select fares can still check two bags for free, others will need to pay up. 
Southwest is also rolling out a new “Basic” fare, which means some changes are coming to how we earn rewards too. With flight credits expiring sooner for basic economy tickets, it’s time to rethink how we travel!
