I hate that this place exists….on the Eastside.
Seriously I’m sitting here silently seething and also thankful that it’s not close to me because I swear I WOULD BE HERE EVERYDAY.
This is Da Real Aloha BBQ, and it’s the real deal. If it wasn’t gloomy as all heck outside, I could be fooled into thinking I’m back on the islands with the music, smells, and funky furniture.

The food is incredibly flavorful, the gravy on the Loco Moco, I can probably put it on cardboard and it’ll still be bomb. The rice is drier, but it’s to soak up sauces like the Loco Moco or the katsu/teriyaki sauces.
The chicken Katsu was outstanding, crispy, crunchy, and moist inside. Accompanied with the thick katsu sauce it was heaven and my daughter declared “Hawaii makes the best chicken”. Um…true but this is in El Paso, baby!
Service was super friendly, in true Island style, and the prices are beyond fair for the incredibly generous portions. The pictures are of mini sizes, especially with the protein, they give you a lot for the money. It’s all “ono” (delicious). If you want to save 3.5% bring cash, and they also offer military discounts.
So come out and support a true gem of a place!
