Free Summer Meals Alert!
Attention, parents and caregivers! Did you know that free summer meals, funded by the USDA, are available to kids and teens ages 18 and younger at various summer meals sites across El Paso? It’s an incredible opportunity to ensure your little ones are well-fed and happy during the summer break! I’ve made a list in 2023 HERE and in 2022 HERE and now I’ve detailed the 2024 list below:
What’s Included?
At these summer meals sites, children and teens can enjoy a nutritious breakfast and/or lunch, completely free of charge. The meals typically include a variety of healthy options, such as:
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Wholesome grains
Lean proteins
Low-fat or non-fat dairy products
This program is designed to fill the nutrition gap that can occur when school is out, making sure no child goes hungry during the summer months.
Where and When?
These free summer meals are available at numerous locations throughout El Paso, including schools, community centers, parks, and other approved sites. The meals are served Monday through Friday, with some sites also offering weekend or holiday meals.
To find the closest summer meals site to you, simply visit the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Summer Meals Site Finder at texassummermeals.org. You can enter your zip code or address to see a list of nearby locations, their hours of operation, and contact information.
El Paso Independent School District (EPISD)
